We can have the pace, so now it\u2019s time to work hard,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul Technical School began its journey in the Eurocup-4 Spanish Winter Championship (E4SWC) with a weekend of learning at the Circuito de Jerez-\u00c1ngel Nieto. The three drivers of the Barcelona team showed great work on the track, although qualifying was a decisive obstacle. Alexander Jacoby, Lorenzo Campos and Francisco Monarca worked tirelessly alongside the team of mechanics and engineers, to extract maximum performance on a demanding track and in a high-level competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first tests on Friday showed good progress in the pace of the Monlau Motul Tatuus-Abarth T421s, with Jacoby and Monarca less than a second behind the leader in the first session. However, Q1, held on Saturday, was a major challenge, with all three drivers lagging behind. Jacoby clocked the 24th fastest time (1:56.664) and Campos the 26th (1:56.834), while Monarca failed to make the cut (2:00.122).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first race of the weekend, held a few hours after&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>qualifying<\/em>&nbsp;, Jacoby spun on the formation lap due to cold tyres. This caused the race to be shortened by two minutes, from 30 minutes plus one lap to 28 plus one lap. In the end, the Brazilian driver went off the track and was out of the race, with Campos finishing in 26th position and Monarca in 30th. Saturday&#8217;s round closed with the sprint race, where Monarca staged a comeback to move from 30th to 21st position. Jacoby was 24th and Campos 25th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, Monlau Motul showed his fighting spirit, but again suffered in qualifying. Jacoby finished 20th in Q2, Campos 22nd and Monarca 28th. Sunday&#8217;s race \u2013 the third and final of the weekend \u2013 was dominated by incidents. After several off-track excursions on the formation lap, the duration was again reduced, this time to 24 minutes plus one lap. Jacoby completed one of the best comebacks of the event on a circuit where overtaking is not easy and finished 12th after starting 20th on the grid, which was the best result of the weekend for the team. Monarca and Campos were unable to finish the race after contact between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>David Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, Team Manager at Monlau Motul Technical School, assessed the first round of the winter championship:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe knew that qualifying would be key and we were unable to achieve good positions, but we showed that we can move up in the race, so we can draw very positive conclusions for what is to come. The riders made some mistakes due to their lack of experience, but Alexander confirmed that this year he has taken a step forward and has gained maturity and solidity. He got close to the points and this makes us optimistic. The incident between Lorenzo and Francisco was a shame, we have to work to ensure that this does not happen again in the future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jaime Serrano<\/strong>&nbsp;, CEO of Monlau Motul, underlined the importance of this event:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe Eurocup-4 Spanish Winter Championship provides us with a great opportunity to prepare for the 2025 season with our drivers, engineers and mechanics. We can build up the pace, so now it\u2019s time to work hard ahead of the regular Spanish F4 season. We continue to learn and improve with each on-track session.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this first experience in the E4SWC, Monlau Motul begins its 2025 season with its sights set on further progress.
