We know the season will be very demanding, but we&#8217;re confident in our preparation,&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monlau Monlau Motul Technical School kicks off its defense of the TCR Europe drivers&#8217; title this weekend at the Aut\u00f3dromo Internacional do Algarve (Portim\u00e3o). The Barcelona-based team will return to the grid with a lineup featuring two young talents: Catalan Eric Gen\u00e9 and Briton Jenson Brickley, both of whom will drive CUPRA Le\u00f3n VZ TCRs, aiming to win both the teams&#8217; and drivers&#8217; championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At just 18 and 20 years old, respectively, Gen\u00e9 and Brickley have proven their talent on the national scene and are now making the leap to the continental championship. The Catalan driver, currently leading the TCR Spain championship, will face his first full season in TCR Europe after making his debut last year with a one-off appearance at Spa-Francorchamps. Brickley, meanwhile, joins the team after shining in both TCR UK and TCR Spain\u2014where he achieved runner-up position in 2024\u2014and with a European participation last season. In addition, both drivers represented their respective countries in the touring car category of the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With six rounds scheduled on some of Europe&#8217;s most iconic circuits, the championship will be highly demanding, with high-quality drivers and vehicles ensuring high competitiveness. To meet this challenge, Monlau Motul will have a technical team of 12 technicians and engineers who will assist the two CUPRAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>David Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, Monlau Motul team manager, highlights the competitive level of the championship:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe TCR Europe has established itself as one of the most attractive championships on the continent, with a very strong grid. We&#8217;re aiming to fight for the podium in every race and for both championships. We know our drivers are young, but also have a lot of talent and great pace. The experience gained in the TCR Spain will be invaluable, as the level in Spain is very high, and it&#8217;s helping us fine-tune our setup and work methodologies. Furthermore, we&#8217;re immersed in the development of the CUPRA, with advances in different areas such as car dynamics, transmission, and aerodynamics, which allows us to arrive well prepared for this challenge.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jaime Serrano<\/strong>&nbsp;, CEO of Monlau Motul, praises the team&#8217;s commitment to training:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cIt&#8217;s a great satisfaction for us to return to racing in TCR Europe after the 2024 title, and to do so with two young talents like \u00c8ric and Jenson. This project perfectly combines our training vocation with the high level of competition and reflects the work of our entire team. We know the season will be very demanding, but we trust in our preparation and the team&#8217;s ability to be among the best again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Portuguese Algarve track will mark the start of the 2025 TCR Europe season. Two free practice sessions will be held on Friday, while qualifying and the first race of the year will take place on Saturday.
