Jenson did a great job, and \u00c8ric also demonstrated his outstanding pace and potential,&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0said David Sim\u00f3n, Monlau Motul team manager.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>&#8220;The performance of our drivers and our team of technicians and engineers confirms that we&#8217;re on the right track. Now it&#8217;s time to continue improving to reach the top in the upcoming races,&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0said Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monlau Motul Technical School had a very positive start to the 2025 TCR Europe season at the Aut\u00f3dromo Internacional do Algarve (Portim\u00e3o). Jenson Brickley took victory in the second race of the weekend, as well as a second place in the first, which puts him in second place in the championship, just three points behind the leader. The Barcelona-based team also sits second in the team standings after the first meeting of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event began on Friday with two free practice sessions, in which both the British driver and his teammate, \u00c8ric Gen\u00e9, demonstrated great pace aboard their respective CUPRA Le\u00f3n VZ TCRs. On Saturday, in qualifying, the Catalan achieved the third best time (1:50.857), just 0.059 behind the&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>poleman<\/em>&nbsp;. The Briton, meanwhile, was ninth (1:51.395), half a second behind the leader, demonstrating the closeness of the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the opening race, Brickley got off to a strong start and, by the end of the first lap, had climbed to third place. Gen\u00e9 also made a strong start, moving into second place and even challenging for the win. He also claimed the fastest lap of the race. However, a ten-second penalty for contact with a rival ultimately relegated him to fifth place. Brickley, who crossed the finish line in third, climbed to second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second race took place on Sunday, with a reverse grid compared to qualifying times. The British driver shone again: he made a great start and took the lead on the first corner, a position he held until the checkered flag. The Barcelona native, on the other hand, collided with a rival while battling in the pack and was eliminated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these results, Jenson Brickley occupies second place in the drivers&#8217; standings, and Monlau Motul is also second among the teams, making them contenders for the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>David Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, Monlau Motul team manager, assessed the first meeting of the year:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe are satisfied with the level shown in a series as competitive as the TCR Europe. Jenson did a great job, with a victory and a podium that are very important for us. \u00c8ric also demonstrated his excellent pace and potential, but incidents in both races prevented him from achieving a better result. We know that the season will be very demanding, so we will continue working to maintain this positive momentum.
