{"id":25669,"date":"2025-09-22T10:47:45","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T10:47:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monlau-motorsport.com\/?p=25669"},"modified":"2025-09-22T10:47:49","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T10:47:49","slug":"monlau-motul-bids-farewell-to-cek-2025-with-four-wins-eight-podium-finishes-and-thiago-huertas-mini-rookie-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/monlau-motorsport.com\/en\/monlau-motul-bids-farewell-to-cek-2025-with-four-wins-eight-podium-finishes-and-thiago-huertas-mini-rookie-title\/","title":{"rendered":"Monlau Motul bids farewell to CEK 2025 with four wins, eight podium finishes, and Thiago Huertas&#8217; Mini Rookie title"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Barcelona team holds five of the six possible places on the weekend podium in the Mini Rookie category, which is rounded out by Thiago Huertas&#8217; title and Sasha Miras&#8217; runner-up finish.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sete Ve\u00e0 climbed to second place in the KZ standings after two resounding victories in the finals.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>\u201cThe significant changes in the weather presented us with a very important challenge, which the drivers, engineers, and mechanics managed to overcome to achieve magnificent results, confirming the team&#8217;s motto: to be competitive in all divisions,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0highlights Rub\u00e9n Sim\u00f3n, Team Manager of the Monlau Motul Karting Team.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>\u201cI would especially like to congratulate Thiago, Sasha, and Sete, but also all the other members, because we had a strong presence among the top ten in the final Mini, Junior, and KZ classifications, which shows that our sporting and technical commitment has been successful this year,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0concludes Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul Karting Team yesterday concluded the 2025 season of the Spanish Karting Championship (CEK) with an outstanding collective performance by the 17 team members, including four victories and eight podium finishes. The team&#8217;s competitiveness was evident once again in the final standings of their respective championships, highlighted by the double finish in Mini Rookie by Thiago Huertas and Sasha Miras, as well as Sete Ve\u00e0&#8217;s runner-up position in KZ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The long summer break came to an end as the champions of the 2025 CEK were crowned in Zuera. The Aragonese track welcomed 167 entrants, with a highly volatile weather forecast putting added pressure on riders and technicians. After a few very hot initial days, the event concluded with a sharp drop of 10 degrees Celsius, in addition to occasional rainfall on Saturday and Sunday that affected the available grip on the asphalt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In yet another event, the Mini and Mini Rookie divisions garnered the most victories for Monlau Motul Karting Team, whose drivers have been undisputed protagonists throughout the CEK. This was clear from Saturday&#8217;s practice and qualifying heats, with Thiago Huertas and Sasha Miras blocking out a 100% Monlau Motul front row. Both were the two main contenders for the rookie crown, classified in this order, followed by Leo Devahive in third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, Sasha Miras rocketed to a third-place finish in the first race, which also helped him lead the team&#8217;s triple win in the Rookie division, where he shared the podium with Huertas (2nd) and Devahive (3rd). In the afternoon, Huertas took the Rookie victory, ahead of Devahive, with Miras dropping to fifth. Completing the list of results were Monlau Motul Alexander Kwong (11th in the two finals), Massimiliano Filonzi (23rd and 25th), and Guillem Coll (18th in the first race, the only one he managed to finish). Translated into the standings, Thiago Huertas was crowned Mini Rookie champion with a 12-point advantage over Sasha Miras, who was second. In the overall championship, the order was reversed, although three Monlau Motul Karting Team drivers finished in the top 10: Miras, 6th; Huertas, 8th; and Kwong, 9th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another category in which the Monlau Motul Karting Team played a significant role was the KZ category, in which Sete Ve\u00e0 had some, albeit remote, chance of taking the title. In the combined time trials and qualifying heats, Asier Garc\u00eda and Sete Ve\u00e0 locked out the second row of the grid, finishing third and fourth, respectively. The following day, Ve\u00e0 was the undisputed star of the finals, with two major victories, the second of which was a one-two for Monlau Motul and Eloi Gonz\u00e1lez, who came from 15th on the grid. Completing the team&#8217;s results were Asier Garc\u00eda (6th and 10th) and Berta R\u00e0fols (16th in the second final, the only one in which she saw the flag). However, the points total elevated Ve\u00e0 to the runner-up position, with two other members of the Monlau Motul Karting Team among the top 10: Eloi Gonz\u00e1lez, 5th, and Asier Garc\u00eda, 8th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul also enjoyed great competition in the Junior division, where the team entered with all five starters. David Miciuna and Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez were the best on Saturday, finishing 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Both would play a prominent role the following day, with Miciuna finishing on the podium in both finals (3rd and 2nd, respectively), and Gonz\u00e1lez in one of them (3rd in the second after finishing 6th in the morning). Also competing for the team were Tom\u00e1s Tavares (18th and 15th), Egor Ivanchenko (23rd and 21st), and \u00c1lvaro Perell\u00f3 (16th in the first race and forced to retire in the second). The final positions in the Junior division kept two representatives of Monlau Motul Karting Team in the top five: David Miciuna, 4th, and Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez, 5th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicol\u00e1s Garc\u00eda completed Monlau Motul&#8217;s performance at Zuera in the Senior category, although he wasn&#8217;t particularly successful. With a 19th-place grid finish after the qualifying heats, the Andalusian rider was disqualified in the first final and forced to retire in the second, which left him in 17th place in the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rub\u00e9n Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, Team Manager of Monlau Motul Karting Team, summed up the weekend for the team in Aragon with these words:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe weather conditions presented us with a formidable challenge, which our engineers, mechanics and drivers managed to overcome to achieve magnificent results in terms of victories and podiums, and which support the team&#8217;s leitmotif: to be competitive in all categories.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul CEO&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Jaime Serrano<\/strong>&nbsp;underlined this last detail in his summary of CEK 2025:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cI would like to congratulate all the team members, starting with our champion, Thiago Huertas, and the two runners-up, Sasha Miras and Sete Ve\u00e0. But beyond the titles or podium positions, the important thing is that we have fought hard in all divisions, as demonstrated by the fact that three of our team members have been among the top 10 in Rookie, another two in Junior and two more in KZ.
