The Spanish Karting Championship (CEK) will be the team&#8217;s flagship competition, which will also include the IAME Euro Series, the Valencian Community Karting Championship (CKCV), and two unique events: the IAME Warriors Final and the Lecont Trophy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2026 season for the Monlau Karting Team is already underway, with the team participating in the first two preseason competitions: the Trofeo Hivern de K\u00e0rting and the IAME Winter Cup. With March approaching, the team faces its first major challenges: the IAME Euro Series, which kicks off this weekend in Zuera, and especially the CEK, which begins in Campillos on March 20, 21, and 22. The Monlau Motul lineup for this championship, which will consist of four rounds, will feature 18 drivers, the same as in 2025, although now with representation in all categories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting from the ground up,&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Lorenzo Pastoriza<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;joins the CS55 Racing Karting Academy, the foundation of Spanish karting, which this year will grow to 26 entries from nine countries. The Andalusian driver will begin his journey in Campillos, a circuit he knows very well and where he recently achieved a first and a third place in the regional championship race this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Mini class, the 2025 rookie champion,&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Thiago Huertas<\/strong>&nbsp;, begins his second attempt at the overall title. He will be joined by another returning driver,&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Guillem Coll<\/strong>&nbsp;from Mallorca , and three newcomers. Leading the list is&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Marc Cruz<\/strong>&nbsp;from Catalonia , who already knows what it&#8217;s like to win with the Monlau Motul Karting Team after his victory at the Hivern Karting in January. Also competing are&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Pablo Segura<\/strong>&nbsp;from Murcia , who finished third at that same event and recently secured fifth place in the Asia Cup, and&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Sergio Barreda<\/strong>&nbsp;from Castell\u00f3n , a versatile athlete whose life is divided between two passions: judo and karting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Junior category will feature five representatives from the Monlau Motul Karting Team.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>&nbsp;, fifth in 2025, will continue for a second year, as will&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Nuvola Morales<\/strong>&nbsp;, the 2025 Valencian champion who secured the Mini title for Monlau Motul the previous year. Making their CEK debuts are&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Juan Alameda from Burgos and&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Nilas Malik<\/strong>&nbsp;, &nbsp;a Dane based in Marbella&nbsp;&nbsp;, the latter competing in selected CEK events. Completing the Junior roster&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>is Marco del Moral<\/strong>&nbsp;, who moves up from the Mini category and whose focus will be on the Valencian championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Monlau Motul Karting Team will also field five competitors in the Senior category. Nico Garc\u00eda<\/strong>&nbsp;from Andalusia remains&nbsp;&nbsp;, and will share many tests, heats, and finals with another familiar face on the team,&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Egor Ivanchenko<\/strong>&nbsp;, who moves up from Junior. They are joined by three new names:&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Cristian Fuente<\/strong>&nbsp;, who will compete in the CEK, and two new additions who will initially focus their programs on the IAME Euro Cup:&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Emilia Kari&nbsp; from Finland and&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Toby Gale<\/strong>&nbsp;from Thailand&nbsp;&nbsp;, who makes the leap to Europe after winning eight titles in his home country and three Asian championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Completing the Monlau Motul Karting Team roster are the two drivers in KZ, which will once again feature&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Asier Garc\u00eda<\/strong>&nbsp;from Avil\u00e9s , who will be joined by newcomer&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Hugo Mart\u00ed<\/strong>&nbsp;. The Valencian driver, who begins a new chapter with Monlau Motul in 2026, won the European Championship in the FIA \u200b\u200bAcademy Trophy in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 18 names mentioned will be supported by a comprehensive technical structure led by Rub\u00e9n Sim\u00f3n as team manager. Reporting to Sim\u00f3n will be two category managers, both with experience at the company, three data engineers, all graduates of the Master&#8217;s in Motorsport Engineering program, and one mechanic per kart for each division, also current or former students of the program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monlau Motul Karting Team&#8217;s first event of the season takes place this week in Zuera, Zaragoza, for the opening round of the IAME Euro Series. Six drivers will be competing: Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez and Nuvola Morales in the Junior category, and Emilia Kari, Egor Ivanchenko, Toby Gale, and Cristian Fuente in the Senior category. The competition format has been modified this season, reducing each event to four days: free practice on Wednesday, warm-up, qualifying, and the first heats on Thursday, Friday dedicated entirely to qualifying races, and Saturday for super heats and finals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rub\u00e9n Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, Team Manager of Monlau Motul Karting Team, summarizes the team&#8217;s objectives for the 2026 season:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe challenge we set ourselves each year is to be competitive in all categories and reach the end of the season with a chance to fight for the titles. We are very satisfied with our lineup, which is of high quality, including drivers returning from previous years and new additions, and of course with our team of engineers and mechanics, who will support them so they can deliver the best performance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul CEO&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Jaime Serrano<\/strong>&nbsp;emphasizes the educational importance of this discipline:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cKarting is the first step in motorsport, the category where the drivers, mechanics, and engineers of tomorrow begin their training, which is why it&#8217;s so important to us. We&#8217;re confident we can maintain the team&#8217;s strong performance this year, but above all, we hope it will reinforce learning for everyone&#8217;s future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monlau Motul Karting Team&#8217;s 2026 calendar will be completed with participation in the Valencian Community Karting Championship and two select events: the IAME Warriors Final and the Lecont Trophy.
