The Spanish team, fielding a roster of six drivers, was particularly prominent in the Junior category. Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez took the victory in the final and is now the early championship leader, closely followed by his teammate Nuvola Morales, who finished third. In the Senior category, the team&#8217;s best performer was Thai driver Toby Gale, who finished the final race in 12th place after showing glimpses of his talent during the qualifying heats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beautiful and modern Zuera International Circuit hosted the opening round of the IAME Euro Series, the only continental championship for Monlau Karting Team in 2026. This event finally brought to a close a long winter of preparatory races and tests. The team&#8217;s six drivers arrived in peak form and highly motivated for a competition that had slightly modified its format, condensing it into just four days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the free practice sessions, it was clear that the Monlau Motul Karting Team was going to be one of the teams to beat in the Junior category, as&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;and&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Nuvola Morales<\/strong>&nbsp;confirmed &nbsp;in the opening stages of the competition. Gonz\u00e1lez, from Marbella, qualified 7th and finished the three qualifying heats with an excellent record: a win, a 4th place, and a 3rd place. Morales, for his part, qualified 9th&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>and<\/em>&nbsp;finished the heats with a 3rd, an 11th, and a 1st place. The Superheat, which also awards championship points, confirmed the good form of the Monlau Motul drivers, who achieved a one-two finish with Iv\u00e1n ahead of Nuvola. The feeling was extraordinary heading into the grand final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That final 14-lap race would complete the story of the inaugural IAME Euro Series event. Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez started from pole position, leading the field of 36 selected drivers, while Nuvola Morales started from fourth. The pole sitter made a strong start, controlling the race from the lights to the checkered flag, while Nuvola Morales secured a solid third place after briefly dropping to fifth in the early stages. These results, combined with the weekend&#8217;s total, put Iv\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez in the championship lead with 100 points, 20 more than his closest rival and 30 ahead of Nuvola Morales, who moves up to fourth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Senior category, the Spanish round of the IAME Euro Series provided valuable lessons for the four members of the Monlau Motul Karting Team. The standout performer was Thailand&#8217;s&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Toby Gale<\/strong>&nbsp;, who improved throughout practice and qualifying, ultimately becoming the team&#8217;s sole representative in the final. The Asian champion finished 17th overall after the heats, combining a few incidents with a partial victory, and climbed to 10th in the Superheat. In the final, he gained five positions from 17th on the starting grid to cross the finish line in 12th. Just missing out were&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Emilia Kari<\/strong>&nbsp;in 37th,&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Egor Ivanchenko<\/strong>&nbsp;in 43rd, and&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Cristian Fuente<\/strong>&nbsp;in 65th.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rub\u00e9n Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, Team Manager of Monlau Motul Karting Team, concluded the first IAME Euro Series event with satisfaction:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cIv\u00e1n and Nuvola fought for the top positions from practice onwards, demonstrating excellent work on their part and also from our team of mechanics and engineers. In the Senior division, Toby showed great competitiveness, while Cristian, Emilia, and Egor suffered incidents that prevented them from reaching the final. However, we gained valuable lessons that we will begin to apply starting with the Franciacorta race.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul CEO&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Jaime Serrano<\/strong>&nbsp;added:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe leave Zuera generally satisfied because, although there is still a long way to go in the championship, we have demonstrated great overall strength in a very close and competitive event.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IAME Euro Series will return between April 15th and 18th at the Franciacorta circuit in Italy.
