This result reinforces the upward trend we are following,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monlau Motul Technical School completed an outstanding weekend at the second round of the 2026 TCR Europe Championship, held at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium. The Barcelona-based team achieved a valuable double podium finish in the first race thanks to Viktor Andersson and Marco Butti, who finished second and third respectively. They also secured first and second place in the Youth Trophy. All of this took place on a weekend marked by extremely close competition and highly changeable weather, with constant alternations between dry and rainy conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The action began on Friday with two free practice sessions, during which the team worked intensively on fine-tuning the three CUPRA Le\u00f3n VZ TCRs. On Saturday morning, Monlau Motul confirmed its competitiveness in qualifying, with Andersson third (2:27.265), less than seven tenths of a second off&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>pole position<\/em>&nbsp;, Butti fourth (2:27.465), and Adam Shepherd sixth (2:27.629).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first race, held on Saturday afternoon under light rain midway through, delivered one of the team&#8217;s best performances of the TCR Europe season. Andersson made a great start, taking second place from the outset and defending the position in several intense battles until the checkered flag. Behind him, Butti initially lost a place but staged a strong comeback, regaining positions and culminating his performance with a last-lap overtake that propelled him to third place on the podium. Andersson also won the Youth Trophy, with Butti finishing second. Shepherd completed another very consistent performance to cross the finish line in sixth position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, the second race was once again affected by rain and difficult strategic tire decisions. Shepherd started from fifth, Butti from seventh, and Andersson from eighth. However, a collision between Shepherd and Butti at the start complicated things for both, although they were able to continue. The Italian quickly recovered and moved into fourth place, a position he held for much of the race, while Shepherd dropped to sixth and Andersson fell to 16th in the early stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a race heavily influenced by the track conditions, Butti ran at the front for many laps and ultimately finished seventh, as well as fourth among the Youth riders. Shepherd finished tenth after remaining in contention for points throughout the race, while Andersson was 12th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the results achieved in Belgium, Monlau Motul is now firmly in contention for the various championship titles. Andersson has climbed to fifth place overall (second in the Youth Trophy), while Butti is sixth (third in Youth) and Shepherd is 12th. In the team standings, the Barcelona-based team has moved up to second place in the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>David Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;, team manager of Monlau Motul, gave a very positive assessment of the team&#8217;s performance throughout the weekend:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe are very satisfied with the team&#8217;s performance. We consistently placed all three CUPRA cars in the top 10 in a championship with an extremely high level of competition and tremendous parity. The weekend was heavily influenced by the unstable weather, which meant that each session was different. Qualifying went very well, and the double podium finish on Saturday confirmed the great pace we had. On Sunday, tire strategies played a significant role in the race, but we continued to score important points and are taking a step forward in the fight for the championship.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jaime Serrano<\/strong>&nbsp;, CEO of Monlau Motul, highlighted the team&#8217;s growth at this second race of the year:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe overall performance was very solid on a circuit as demanding as Spa-Francorchamps. All three riders demonstrated a high level of skill, and the team once again responded perfectly in very challenging conditions.
