For two days, students experience what it means to work in a professional team, in a real-world environment, and must respond under pressure, make decisions, and work in a coordinated manner,\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monlau Motul Endurance Race will once again transform the Circuit de Calafat (Tarragona) into the stage for the final exam of second-year students of Motorcycle Racing Mechanics at the Monlau Motul Technical School. The eighth edition of this unique training experience will take place on May 28th and 29th with a four-hour endurance race that will test all the knowledge acquired by the students throughout the course. In total, the event will involve more than 140 people, making it the largest to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fifty-five students will take the exam, divided into ten teams \u2013 two more than in the previous edition \u2013 each consisting of two riders, a team manager, and four to five mechanics students. Each team will work with a Honda CBR600RR F26, prepared entirely in the school&#8217;s workshops, in a cross-curricular project that integrates various subjects and forms part of the final assessment for the third term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increased number of motorcycles on the track will allow for a reduction in the number of students assigned to each unit, one of the major innovations of this edition. This way, each student will assume an even more active role within the team and will have greater responsibility during the preparation and execution of the race. On a technical level, this year also includes changes to the front brake pumps, a new rear shock absorber configuration, and the creation of the motorcycles&#8217; electrical systems by the students themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the past five months, classes have been focused on preparing for this project. The students have worked on the motorcycles in the workshop classrooms, where they have carried out maintenance, engine and wiring checks, dyno tests, pit stop simulations, and general fine-tuning to prepare for a race that faithfully replicates the workings of a professional racing structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will once again involve other students from the school. First-year students will serve as race marshals and track marshals, while students in the Master&#8217;s program in Motorsport Engineering will analyze data, develop&nbsp;<em>pit stop<\/em>&nbsp;strategies , and calculate fuel consumption for an endurance race. Faculty will also accompany and supervise the teams throughout the competition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race will maintain its four-hour endurance format and will be run under a set of regulations developed by Monlau Motul, inspired by official FIM motorcycle competitions. Each team will be required to complete six&nbsp;<em>pit stops.<\/em>Mandatory and strategically manage refueling, limited to a maximum of four liters per stop. Strategy, coordination, and reaction time will once again be crucial in a race where much of the work will be decided in the&nbsp;<em>pit lane<\/em>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe Endurance Race perfectly represents our approach to training. For two days, students experience what it means to work in a professional team, in a real-world environment, and must respond under pressure, make decisions, and work in a coordinated manner.
