Aron Canet and Alonso Lopez will be in Moto3 World Championship action this weekend, as the series holds its third round of the season in Austin, Texas. The Grand Prix Of The Americas awaits the Estrella Galicia 0,0 duo for their latest challenge.
\nWorld Championship leader Canet returns to one of his favourite tracks, which has left him with some bittersweet memories. Last year he dominated the first two Free Practice sessions, took pole position in Qualifying and set the best time in the warmup. However, his perfect weekend was turned on its head when the red flag was shown as he was leading the race. On the restart he enjoyed an epic battle with rival Romano Fenati, until he crashed when leading the contest once more. A second place finish in Argentina a fortnight ago gives him a 10-point lead in the standings coming into this year’s GP Of The Americas.
\nIn his first season in Grand Prix racing, Alonso Lopez makes his debut appearance at Austin -one of the many tracks at which he has no previous experience. The Circuit Of The Americas is an especially challenging one, given its varied and complex nature. An impressive sixth place in the Argentinian GP provided him with his first points in the World Championship, and his aim for this weekend is to continue learning and progressing with every outing on track.
\nThe Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3 riders will get their first taste of the circuit this Friday from 9 am local time, when FP1 gets underway. The GP Of The Americas will begin at 11 am on Sunday.

\n\u201cTo be completely honest, COTA is by far my favourite circuit. I’ve spent all year waiting to ride there again, and I think that it’s going to be a track that suits me well. I come into this weekend very motivated and I want to get back on the pace we set last season, in which we were always amongst the frontrunners in every session.”
