Another typically spectacular Moto3 Italian Grand Prix took place this Sunday, with slipstreams deciding the final order in Tuscany.
\nBefore the contest got underway, Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider Aron Canet had once again demonstrated his strong pace with the second best time in the morning warmup. In the race, he started from the second row of the grid and was in seventh during the opening lap, becoming embroiled in a battle in the group pursuing the leaders. However, he would subsequently drop down the order. Although he recovered to move back up to eighth place with four laps to go, constant changes of position placed him eleventh at the chequered flag. This result leaves Canet in fourth place in the overall standings, with 61 points.
\nAlonso Lopez had set the nineteenth quickest time in the warmup, his best placing in the weekend practice sessions. At the start of the race he gained several positions, but immediately became immersed in a group in which constant overtaking slowed his progress. He steadily progressed and managed to enter the top twenty when the race entered its final laps. The Spaniard eventually placed eighteenth at the end of a weekend in which he pushed hard. He occupies fifteenth overall, with 23 points.
\nThe next Moto3 World Championship race will be held from June 15 to 17th at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

\nEMILIO ALZAMORA –\u00a0“It’s a shame, because Aron has been very strong all weekend”
\n“The first two laps of the race were decisive. The first three riders were able to get away cleanly on the opening laps and open up a gap. At the same time, Aron has entered into a fight with other riders in a very large group. Once he saw that the group had broken up, he had to settle for taking as many points as possible. It\u2019s a shame, because Aron has been very strong all weekend, especially when riding alone, but races at tracks like Mugello are usually quite difficult.
\nAs for Alonso L\u00f3pez, we are happy with the work he has been doing all weekend. It was difficult for him because he was coming to a circuit that he didn\u2019t know, but he managed to cope with the situation and improved with each practice session. His progression has been good and he only just missed out on points. Now we have a \u2018home\u2019 Grand Prix, where we have already tested the modified corner and the new asphalt.”

\nAR\u00d3N CANET –\u00a0“I can only think about continuing to work hard”
\n“The race was very difficult because I couldn’t pass anyone on the straight. I made a mistake off the start. If I had not lost so much ground then, I’m sure I could have escaped with the three riders at the front of the race. It was a mistake of mine that affected the rest of the race, because I wanted to recover ground and lost it again when we got onto the straight. That prevented me from taking advantage of that “something else” that I might have had, since riders with less weight have better acceleration. I can only think of continuing to work hard to do the best I can at the upcoming races.”

\n“From the start it was a very difficult race. When I lost 3 tenths on the straight, I had three or four riders going past and I was left slightly adrift, so I had to be alert in order to stick with the others on the straight. I felt more comfortable as the tyres degraded. That helped me reach other riders and keep learning.
