- Miki Blascos was the team’s top finisher with a 13th place finish in the second race of the weekend, seventh among the Rookies
- The tight qualifying sessions affected the weekend for the Monlau Motul drivers, who nevertheless showed an upward trend and staged strong comebacks.
- «We’re half a second off pole, and that already shows how close everything is. The level is very high, and the races, with such close competition, become a huge challenge,» explains David Simón, Monlau Motul team manager.
- «Every race is an opportunity for growth for both drivers and technical staff. This weekend we once again demonstrated our effort and consistency in a category where the gaps are minimal,» emphasized Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.
Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit hosted the sixth and penultimate round of the Spanish Formula 4 Championship, a round that once again brought together a packed field of 35 single-seaters on track, reflecting the extremely close and demanding nature of the championship. In this context, the Monlau Motul Technical School completed an intense weekend of work and learning alongside its three representatives: Balearic Islander Miki Blascos, Brazilian Alexander Jacoby, and Angolan Lorenzo Campos.
On Friday, two free practice sessions took place, providing the team and its drivers with a baseline for the Valencian track. The first qualifying session took place on Saturday morning, in which Blascos was the team’s highest-placed driver with the 18th fastest time (1:34.531), followed by Jacoby (22nd, 1:34.698) and Campos (28th, 1:34.964). With minimal gaps between all the participants, Q1 set the tone for the weekend.
In the afternoon, in the first race, the three drivers faced a complicated heat due to the difficulty of overtaking. Campos climbed a few positions, but contact with a competitor while running 24th caused him to drop in the standings. He ultimately saw the checkered flag in 31st place. Jacoby was also affected by contact with a rival that forced him to retire, while Blascos finished 19th and was the team’s highest-placed finisher.
Sunday began with Q2, which reorganized the grid for the third race, and where the closeness was even greater. Campos finished 16th with a time of 1:34.291, just half a second behind the polesitter , while Blascos was 23rd (1:34.487) and Jacoby 28th (1:34.740).
The second race followed and once again highlighted the competitiveness of the championship. In a heat full of overtaking moves and a very tight group, the three Monlau Motul drivers staged a remarkable comeback. Blascos moved up from 18th to 13th and was 7th among the Rookies, Jacoby climbed from 22nd to 14th (8th Rookie), and Campos recovered ten positions, from 29th to 19th.
The third race, held in the afternoon, rounded out the weekend. Jacoby was again involved in an incident with another driver and crossed the finish line in 32nd. Campos, meanwhile, put in a solid performance, gaining two positions to 14th (5th among the Rookies), while Blascos maintained his starting position (23rd).
David Simón , team manager of Monlau Motul Technical School, praised the competitiveness of the championship: “We’re half a second off pole, and that already shows how close everything is. The level is very high, and the races, with such close competition, become a huge challenge because it’s difficult to advance and defend. Despite everything, our drivers maintain the tendency to push forward, and that’s the important thing. We’ve done a very good job as a team, with the engineers and mechanics always giving their all, although the results don’t fully reflect this due to the race conditions and some contacts that have penalized us.”
Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School, praised the team’s work: “Every race is an opportunity for growth for both the drivers and the technical staff. This weekend we once again demonstrated our effort and consistency in a category where the gaps are minimal. Now we’re looking ahead to the final round, which will be on our home turf in Barcelona.”
The seventh and final stop of the 2025 Spanish Formula 4 Championship calendar will be held from November 14 to 16 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where Monlau Motul will conclude the season.
