Canet and Bastianini come into Aragon GP with renewed excitement

19-09-2017 /
Aron Canet and Enea Bastianini have already put the difficult, wet, crash-filled weekend at the San Marino GP behind them, and are fully focused on getting  a good result at the Aragon GP. The Spaniard and the Italian come into the latest round of the Moto3 World Championship motivated for different reasons.

For Canet, this will be the third time this season that he rides in front of his home fans, and a perfect moment for him to add to his tally of three victories this season. Last year, Canet rode as a Grand Prix rookie in Aragon, albeit with the experience acquired in national series races, started from second row of grid and crossed the line in seventh place. He is now, along with his rival for the runner-up spot, Romano Fenati, one of the only riders who can still mathematically prevent the Joan Mir from becoming Moto3 World Champion.

Bastianini returns to MotorLand with mixed memories. On the one hand, in Aragon last year he could not prevent Brad Binder from mathematically sealing the Moto3 world title. However, he was a protagonist in a competitive weekend, in which he took pole position and in the race managed to place on the podium. The Italian will look at MotorLand as a chance to shine again, just as he did a few weeks ago with his second place at the British GP.

The first Free Practice session for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3 riders will begin on Friday at 9:00am, with FP2 scheduled for 1:10pm.
