Canet and Bastianini determined to maintain momentum in Misano

Less than two weeks ago, Aron Canet and Enea Bastianini saw their hard work rewarded with the top two positions in the Moto3 race at the Silverstone Circuit. This Sunday they will be vying for another podium finish, this time at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli at the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP.
The third victory of the season for Canet gave him back second place in the overall standings. His win, together with the fifth position for compatriot Joan Mir in the same race, also allowed the Spaniard to take 14 points off the current leader of the World Championship. Misano is a track at which Canet competed as a rookie last year, starting from the second row on the grid and crossing the finish line in seventh position.
Bastianini clinched a podium finish at Silverstone with a late overtaking move. Last year he dominated the Practices sessions in San Marino, as well as the Warm Up. In the race he started from second place, and only eventual World Champion Brad Binder would deny him the victory. Bastianini hopes to take a place on the podium again this time around, and regain ground in the standings. He currently stands ninth with 85 points.
The first Free Practice for the Moto3 class will begin on Friday at 9:00am, with FP2 scheduled for 1:10pm.
