Sergio Garcia Dols underwent surgery this Monday to remove screws from his left leg, inserted to treat an injury suffered when riding in the FIM CEV Repsol for Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 in 2018. The operation was carried out by Dr. Cárdenas and Dr. Pich-Aguilera Blasco of the Catalan Traumatology and Sports Medicine Institute.
The Spaniard had fractured his femur in April of 2018, in the second race of the FIM CEV Repsol season opener, held at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
Information provided by the medical team states that the procedure was completed without issue, and involved the removal of distal and proximal screws -as well as other elements that were causing the rider discomfort.
García Dols will begin his recovery process immediately, with the plan of returning to training in the coming weeks to prepare for the 2020 Moto3 World Championship season.
