Monlau Motul bids farewell to the 2025 Spanish F4 season with an intense weekend of learning

  • Miki Blascos was the team’s best-placed driver with an 11th position in the first race, the fifth among the
    Rookies .

  • Alexander Jacoby and Santiago Baztarrica closed the last event of the year with constant work and learning at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
  • “We are very pleased with the effort and attitude of our drivers, mechanics, and engineers. The competition in this series is extremely close, and every detail makes a difference,” says David Simón, team manager of Monlau Motul.
  • “Every race is a challenge, and although the results weren’t what we hoped for, we’ve seen the dedication of the riders and technical staff. The 2025 season is ending with many lessons learned, and we’re already thinking about 2026,” emphasizes Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosted the final round of the 2025 Spanish F4 season, where the Monlau Motul drivers worked intensely to learn from each session and move up the standings. Lorenzo Campos, who moved up to Eurocup-3, was absent from this final event. His seat was taken by Santiago Baztarrica, who completed the weekend alongside Miki Blascos and Alexander Jacoby. The team’s best result came in the first race, where Blascos secured an impressive 11th position (fifth among the Rookies ) in a 34-car field that reflected the championship’s high level of competition. Saturday began with free practice, which also served as the grid for the first race due to a technical issue at the circuit during qualifying that affected timing and track limit enforcement.

Miki Blascos finished 20th (1:43.299), Santiago Baztarrica 27th (1:43.721), and Alexander Jacoby 31st (1:43.885). In the afternoon, during the first race, Blascos staged a remarkable comeback, climbing from 20th to 11th (5th Rookie), just shy of the points, while Jacoby finished 26th and Baztarrica 30th. The incident in the morning session also created another unusual situation. Since qualifying could not take place, the fastest lap of the race was used to determine the starting grid for the second race. This led some drivers to pit for fresh tires in search of a fast lap.

Sunday began with Q2, which determined the starting order for the third race. On a track made wet by rain, Baztarrica finished 24th (2:01.667), Blascos 25th (2:01.731), and Jacoby 30th (2:03.172). In the second race, the Monlau Motul cars started from the back of the field and had to contend with heavy traffic in a tightly packed pack. Ultimately, Baztarrica crossed the finish line in 22nd position, Blascos was 26th, and Jacoby 30th. The third race closed out the weekend and the season once again with a close competition. Jacoby moved up a few positions to finish 25th, while Blascos and Baztarrica finished 26th and 29th, respectively.

David Simón, team manager of Monlau Motul Technical School, praised the work done throughout the championship: “Despite the results, we are very satisfied with the effort and attitude of our drivers, mechanics, and engineers. The competition in this series is extremely close, and any detail makes the difference. Miki, in only his third race in the Spanish F4 Championship, has already demonstrated a high level of skill and adaptability, which is very positive for his development.”

Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School, emphasized the team’s learning experience:“Every race is a challenge, and although the results weren’t what we hoped for, we’ve seen the dedication of the drivers and technical staff. The 2025 season concludes with many lessons learned, and we’re already thinking about 2026, aiming to put our cars at the front of the pack.”

With this final home round, Monlau Motul closes an intense season with its sights set on improving and consolidating its position at the top of the Spanish F4 Championship in 2026.
