The Monlau Motul Karting Team concluded its participation in the 2026 IAME Euro Series with an outstanding result, securing the European title for Iván González in the Junior category. The driver from Málaga finished third in the final of the fourth and final round, held at Karting Genk in Belgium, a result that allowed him to clinch the championship after a race in which he once again placed himself among the top drivers. Mico Lion Shweers , in Junior, and Alex Martínez and Egor Ivanchenko , in Senior, completed the team’s representation at the Belgian event.
Iván González arrived in Genk just four points behind the leader and faced the final round with the championship wide open. From the Qualifying Practice, the Monlau Motul Karting Team driver made his intentions clear by placing third, just 33 thousandths of a second off the fastest time. He subsequently finished fourth in the Qualifying Heats and fifth in the Super Heats, results that allowed him to reach the final with all his chances of winning still alive.
In the decisive race, González once again delivered a solid performance, crossing the finish line in third place. This result was enough to overtake his nearest rival in the standings and secure the IAME Euro Series Junior Championship. The title caps off a particularly outstanding season for the driver from Málaga, which began with a victory in the IAME Winter Cup in Chiva and continued with another win in the first round of the Euro Series, held in Zuera. He then kept his championship hopes alive in Franciacorta and Wackersdorf before culminating the season with the European title in Genk. Furthermore, in the Spanish Karting Championship (CEK), the Marbella driver leads his category with one meeting remaining.
Mico Lion Shweers, a new addition to the Monlau Motul Karting Team for this event, also had a noteworthy performance. The German driver demonstrated impressive speed in qualifying, finishing fifth, just 81 thousandths of a second off the fastest time. He was sixth in the Qualifying Heats and 14th in the Super Heats. In the final, after a weekend of consistent improvement, he finished in 23rd position.
In the Senior category, Alex Martínez completed a remarkable comeback in his first race with the team. After qualifying 51st, the driver steadily climbed the ranks throughout the event, finishing 31st in both the Qualifying Heats and the Super Heats, and capping off his performance with an excellent seventh place in the final.
Egor Ivanchenko, meanwhile, started the weekend with a strong 11th place in Qualifying Practice, but was unable to maintain that position in the subsequent rounds and ultimately failed to qualify for the final.

The 2026 IAME Euro Series provided the Monlau Motul Karting Team with another opportunity to test its performance against an international grid and at some of the benchmark venues in European karting. The four rounds, held in Spain, Italy, Germany, and Belgium, presented very different characteristics, and the team managed to remain competitive in all of them. Iván González’s title confirms the solidity of the work carried out by the Monlau Motul Karting Team throughout a highly demanding championship and consolidates its presence among the leading teams in European karting.
