Canet sets the pace on Friday in Aragon

The Estrella Galicia 0,0 pairing of Aron Canet and Enea Bastianini started work at the Aragon Grand Prix at MotorLand this Friday, amidst tricky conditions. The day began with cloudy skies, although the Moto3 riders contested FP1 on dry asphalt. The second session of the day, however, started with light rain, with the field waiting to put on slicks towards the end.

Aron Canet led the first session of the day, at a track that he has always enjoyed. In the afternoon session the Spaniard waited until the surface was completely dry, eventually going out in the final third of FP2 and moving straight into the top spot. Canet continued to improve his pace on the following laps and finished the session second, but his morning time of 1:59.114 placed him first on the combined timesheet for Friday.

Enea Bastianini also started with a great pace. During FP1 he led the session several times and finally took the fourth best lap, whilst in FP2 he was more conservative due to the delicate conditions of the track and only went out with 20 minutes remaining. He quickly occupied third, where he would finish after upping his pace, but his best morning time of 1:59.406 put him fourth overall.
The Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders will be back on track on Saturday at 9:00am for the third Free Practice session. Qualifying takes place at 12:35pm.

This initiative consists of an internship program for two students on the last year of the Motorcycle Racing Mechanics course, as well as a third from the Masters in Competition Engineering course, gaining work experience under the supervision of the engineers and mechanics of the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team.
