Monlau Motul approaches three decades of experience with a record number of students

  • The Barcelona school begins the academic year with nearly 450 students in its classrooms, a record high.
  • Students from 12 countries have enrolled in this course, reinforcing the international reach of a unique training program.
  • “We are proud to see how our school is growing. This record is the best example of the trust students place in the training we offer and the interest generated by the racing mechanics and engineering sector globally,”  says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.

Students of Motorsports and Motorcycling Competition Mechanics at Monlau Motul Technical School have begun the 2025/26 academic year with a record enrollment. A total of 443 students—271 in motorsports and 172 in motorcycling—will carry out their studies in the classrooms of the Barcelona school. This figure confirms the growing interest in competition mechanics and engineering and reinforces the appeal of a unique academic model, which integrates programs in motorsports, motorcycling, and motorsport engineering, along with driver training and management, as well as its own structures that compete nationally and internationally.

Adding to this record number is a remarkable diversity of backgrounds. The students are represented from 12 different countries: Spain, Andorra, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, and Peru. Within Spain, students come from 15 Autonomous Communities, with Catalonia being the largest, followed by the Valencian Community and Andalusia.

To meet this increase in demand, Monlau Motul has adapted and expanded its classrooms and workshops in Montcada and Reixac (Barcelona) to ensure that both the theoretical and practical aspects—the school’s hallmark—remain of the highest quality. Furthermore, the number of instructors per classroom/workshop has been increased. All of them are alumni of the school and have extensive professional experience in the world of motorsports, providing a direct connection between the academic training and the reality they will encounter in the paddocks.

A gateway to the motorsport elite.
Over nearly three decades, nearly 3,500 students have passed through Monlau Motul’s classrooms, with a very high employment rate among its graduates. Many of them pursue careers in top-level competitions such as MotoGP™, Formula 1™, WEC, GT World Challenge, 24H Series, FIM JuniorGP™, WorldSBK, or the Dakar Rally.

“We are proud to see how our school is growing. This record in the classrooms is the best example of the trust students place in the training we offer and of the growing demand and interest the mechanics and racing engineering sector is generating globally. This year, we have expanded our facilities and faculty, comprised of professionals who have worked in these same classrooms and are currently active in racing, ensuring high-quality teaching and ensuring that future technicians are able to enter the workforce with confidence,”  says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.

The Barcelona school remains committed to training its students using the methodologies of professional teams. The expansion of its resources reflects its desire to respond to the growing demand in the sector and to remain an international benchmark in the field of racing mechanics and engineering.
