Monlau Motul Karting Team faces the 2025 season with the ambition of fighting for all the titles

  • A total of 16 drivers will defend the team’s colours on circuits in Spain and abroad. Among them, five are new additions: Thiago Huertas (Mini Rookie), Max Cruz, Massimiliano Filonzi, Sasha Miras (Mini) and David Minciuna (Junior).
  • The competition programme includes the Spanish Championship, the Valencian regional competition and the IAME Euro Series, as well as various single-meeting trophies.
  • “The challenge for all the drivers and the staff is to be competitive in all categories. We must stay alive in the fight for the championships until the last race,”  says Rubén Simón, Team Manager of the Monlau Motul Karting Team.
  • “Learning by competing to win is the best way to lay the foundations for a successful future in motorsport. We are extremely pleased to experience this alongside young drivers and their families,”  explains Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School .

Monlau Motul Karting Team is laying the groundwork for a 2025 season in which it will compete in seven competitions, the main one being the Spanish Karting Championship (CEK). A total of 16 drivers will defend the team’s colours, five of them new additions: Thiago Huertas (Mini Rookie), Max Cruz, Massimiliano Filonzi, Sasha Miras (Mini) and David Minciuna (Junior). The goal for all of them and their already well-known teammates will be to maintain competitiveness and fight for titles in all categories.

The long 2025 season of the Monlau Karting Team has already started with the Hivern Karting, a single-meeting event held at the Lucas Guerrero International Karting Track on 1 and 2 February. It was clear that the team’s drivers are on their way to becoming regular contenders in their respective categories, as highlighted by the victory of Massimiliano Filonzi in Mini, Monlau Motul’s first success in the new season, or the second place of Eloi González in KZ. The team’s starting line-up in 2025 will include 12 repeat drivers, some of whom will be promoted to higher divisions. In addition, the team’s base will be strengthened with five new additions to cover the losses of those who have decided to make the jump to circuit competitions or other disciplines.

Most of the changes are concentrated in the base, Mini Rookie and Mini, where the four drivers will be debutants in the Monlau Motul structure. The Andalusian Thiago Huertas joins Mini Rookie after a year of experience in karting, which he concluded as runner-up in the Andalusian Mini Championship and in 3rd place in the CS55 Racing Karting Academy. Three other signings are making their debut in Mini: the aforementioned Massimiliano Filonzi, who has the 2023 Premini title in Murcia and was 5th in the 2024 Mini Valencia competition; Max Cruz, born in Palafrugell and the son of a family with a deep passion for karting, who finished in 10th place in the last edition of the Valencian regional championship of this division; and the Franco-Spanish Sasha Miras, 8th in the CS55 Karting Academy last season, a program that he combined with select tests at the regional level.

The Monlau Motul Junior category roster is made up of six names: the 2024 Spanish champion and runner-up, Nuvola Morales and Iván González, respectively, are promoted from Mini, as well as Álvaro Perelló, fourth in the final standings, joined by the Portuguese Tomas Fernandes and the Romanian debutant David Minciuna. Egor Ivanchenko, for his part, will renew for another season in this discipline with the challenge of taking advantage of all the experience accumulated in this division of the CEK 2024, where he finished 17th.

The Monlau Motul Karting Team will have two drivers in the Senior category, the repeat winner Mateo Rubio, 16th last year, and Nico García, who is making the jump after finishing third in Junior, although fighting for the title until the last round.

The list of team representatives is completed by the four registered in KZ, with the 2023 Spanish champion, Sete Veà, at the head, accompanied by Berta Rafols, also an expert in the discipline, who finished 10th last year. Eloi González, champion in 2022 and 3rd in 2024, and Asier García, 14th last year, are promoted from the Senior category.

The competent group of mechanics and engineers of the Monlau Motul Karting Team, made up of students from the racing mechanics school, teachers and active professionals, will ensure the smooth running of the season. The visible head of the structure will be the Team Manager, Rubén Simón, to whom a manager for each category will report. Going down the ladder, each driver will have his own mechanic and a data engineer for each division.

When it comes to setting goals,  Rubén Simón , Team Manager of Monlau Motul Karting Team, remains faithful to the philosophy that has allowed the team to grow to excellence:  “As we have been achieving in recent seasons, the challenge for all drivers and staff is to be competitive in all categories. We must remain alive in the fight for championships, whether national, international or regional, until the last round of the last meeting.”

This competitive momentum is one of the foundations of the present and future of Monlau Motul Karting Team, as highlighted by its CEO,  Jaime Serrano :  “This ambitious and growth-oriented spirit is one of the reasons why drivers and their families trust our team for the first stage of their sporting careers. Learning by competing to win is the best way to lay the foundations for a successful future in motorsport. We are extremely pleased to be able to experience it alongside all of them.”

The Monlau Motul Karting Team calendar will once again feature the Spanish Karting Championship (CEK) as its main event, joined by a regional competition, the Karting Championship of the Valencian Community, and an international one, the IAME Euro Series. In addition, the team’s drivers will compete in trophies such as the IAME Winter Cup, the IAME Warriors Finals or the LeCont Trophy, or the already contested Hivern Karting.
