Monlau Motul kicks off the 2025 season with the Eurocup-4 Spanish Winter Championship

  • The Barcelona-based team will take part in the three rounds of the competition, which will take place between February and March, in preparation for the 2025 Spanish F4 season.
  • It will feature a line-up of three young drivers: Alexander Jacoby, Lorenzo Campos and Francisco Monarca.
  • “Every kilometre on the track is key to the development of our drivers and the car. These tests will help us to measure our performance and face the start of the championship with guarantees,”  says David Simón, Team Manager of the team.
  • “This championship is an unbeatable opportunity to put our work to the test in a competitive environment. We have done some tests and the sensations are very good. We are very motivated by the talent of our team of mechanics, engineers and drivers,”  says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.

Following the last few months of competitive hiatus, Monlau Motul Technical School is ready to kick off its 2025 season. The first challenge that the Barcelona-based team will face will be the Eurocup-4 Spanish Winter Championship (E4SWC), which will kick off next weekend, from 7 to 9 February, at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit.

This competition is shaping up to be the best platform for preparing for the regular season of Spanish F4, so it will be a great opportunity for the team to fine-tune its technical and sporting work in a calendar that includes three races on benchmark circuits such as the Jerez circuit, Portimão and Navarra.

After a 2024 in which it continued to consolidate its position in Spanish F4, the Barcelona-based team has set itself the goal of continuing to grow and achieve better results. The team has demonstrated its progress since its creation and remains faithful to its commitment to promoting the talent and comprehensive training of its drivers.

Unlike the Formula Winter Series, in which Monlau Motul participated last year, this new competition is specifically aimed at Spanish F4 participants. The aim is to provide teams and drivers with valuable experience for the 2025 season, which will begin its tenth edition at the end of March in Aragon.

To meet this challenge, the team will have a line-up of three drivers at the wheel of two Tatuus-Abarth T421s: Alexander Jacoby, a 15-year-old American who has already competed in some Spanish F4 events in 2024; Lorenzo Campos, a 15-year-old from Angola, with experience in the category and in the FIA Motorsport Games; and Francisco Monarca, a 16-year-old Argentinian who will make the leap from karting as a rookie.

David Simón , team manager at Monlau Motul Technical School, underlines the importance of these three events for the team’s preparation:  “Every kilometre on the track is key to the development of our drivers and the car. The races in Jerez, Portimão and Navarra will serve to measure our performance and face the start of the championship with guarantees.”  In addition, Simón highlights the incorporation of Francesc Gutiérrez to the team, who will be in charge of advising the young talents:  “He will be a fundamental piece in guiding the drivers so that they can easily face the challenges that will arise due to their lack of experience.”

Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motul, values the importance of this preparation:  “The winter championship is an unbeatable opportunity for our team to continue growing in all aspects. It allows us to test our work in a competitive environment and adapt to the challenges that will come in Spanish F4. We have done some tests and the sensations are very good. We are very motivated by the talent of the team of mechanics, engineers and drivers.”

Monlau Motul faces this new stage with a consolidated team. The structure of mechanics and engineers, which remains the same as last season, will provide stability and allow the technical work to continue to be developed with a solid base. All of this with the aim of starting the regular season in the best possible conditions.
