Several months after the 2020 season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sergio Garcia Dols, Ryusei Yamanaka and the rest of the members of Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3 will return to action next month, it was confirmed with the announcement of a revised calendar this Thursday.
Only the Qatar Grand Prix, held on March 8th, has taken place thus far. A further 13 events will run at eight circuits, starting with the Spanish Grand Prix on July 19th at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto.
A second visit to the same track is scheduled for July 26th, dubbed the Andalusian Grand Prix. The new calendar includes five more Grands Prix on Spanish soil, divided between the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya, MotorLand Aragon and the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana – Ricardo Tormo.
Before July 31st, the possible celebration of the Grand Prix of the Americas, Argentinian GP, Thai GP and Malaysian GP should be confirmed. These would be added to the new-look calendar. The 2020 season will have a maximum of 17 rounds and will conclude no later than December 13.
Garcia Dols is eagerly awaiting the resumption of the season, since at the inaugural race in Qatar he spent much of the weekend matching the pace of the fastest riders in Moto3.
Japanese rookie Yamanaka was also forced into lockdown right after his first race as a full time World Championship rider concluded. He has been in Japan with his family, and has the utmost enthusiasm to get back to competing.

Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motorsport:
“At Monlau Motorsport we can only celebrate the news of the return of competition in the coming weeks. We have had several months of restrictions of all kinds due to the severity of the global health emergency -necessary measures to stop the advance of a crisis that threatened people’s health. During this time we have followed the instructions set by the authorities and undertaken a review of our sporting objectives based on the new scenario, so that the Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders and staff return to action in conditions that guarantee the highest level of safety. Our riders have followed a strict training programme in constant communication with the crew during the State of Alarm, in order to restart the season as prepared as possible; Without a doubt, competing again is great news for all of us.”
#11 / Sergio Garcia Dols, Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3 rider:
“I cannot hide the fact that, even though these past few months it was necessary to stop the competition due to the health emergency, I was really looking forward to riding again. It has been a very hard time for many people, so every precaution has been necessary. Now that the situation seems to be improving, it is time to return and get the competition back up and running. It’s great to know that the races will start up again soon.”
#6 / Ryusei Yamanaka, Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3 rider:
“Having to suspend the season after only the first race was very hard for me, but the circumstances were very serious and all the indications had to be followed to stop the spread of infection. Now that things are back under control, I am very happy and hopeful about resuming racing again. I am looking forward to getting back to the circuits; I still have a lot to learn this year.”
