The alliance between Monlau Motorsport and Estrella Galicia 0,0 culminates in 2025 with MotoGP™ world champions trained in their teams

  • Marc Márquez, Diogo Moreira and José Antonio Rueda, three riders forged in the Monlau Motorsport school, were proclaimed this year world champions in MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ respectively.
  • Created in 2011, the alliance between Monlau and Estrella Galicia 0,0 has created a comprehensive structure that guides the rider from the base to the MotoGP™ World Championship.
  • “Being able to accompany and support drivers from their beginnings is a key factor in their development and future success. Thanks to the strength of our partnership with Estrella Galicia 0,0 for over a decade now, we have been able to train and enjoy drivers who are now world champions,” explains Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motorsport.

Marc Márquez , Diogo Moreira, and José Antonio Rueda , three riders who began their careers at Monlau Motorsport and were part of its development program for several years, have been crowned world champions in 2025. This unprecedented success consolidates the joint project between Monlau Motorsport and Estrella Galicia 0,0 as a global benchmark in the identification and development of young motorcycling talent.

In 2011, Estrella Galicia 0,0 joined Monlau’s development model with a clear objective: to create a comprehensive structure that would support riders from the grassroots level to the MotoGP™ World Championship. This partnership promotes the participation of young riders in the FIM JuniorGP™ and guarantees commitment, hard work, passion, and a pursuit of excellence for the sporting development of future motorcycling stars.

A model of success, from the ground up to the top.
The three current MotoGP™ World Champions share a common denominator: they were trained entirely within Monlau structures, progressing through all stages of the educational, technical, and sporting program developed by the leading motorsport school.

A pioneer of this successful formula, Marc Márquez began his journey with Monlau in 2005, achieving his first title that same year in the Catalan 125cc Speed Championship with Team RACC Caja Madrid . In 2006, he retained the regional title and debuted in the Spanish Speed Championship (CEV) with Team Monlau Competición , where he finished eighth.

In 2007, he competed with KTM in the CEV, achieving a ninth-place finish. Back in 2011, with Team Catalunya Caixa (a 100% Monlau structure), he was runner-up in the Moto2™ world championship and rookie of the year, before winning the world title in the same category in 2012. These promising first steps in competition allowed him to become the figure he is today, one of the best riders in history with seven MotoGP™ titles, the last one obtained this year with the Ducati Lenovo Team.

Brazilian Diogo Moreira began his career with the Monlau School Team in 2017, excelling in national championships with a fourth-place finish in 85GP and a runner-up position in Moto4™ in 2018. His progression continued in 2019 in the European Talent Cup category with the Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 , where he finished sixth. Subsequently, with the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 , he had two very solid seasons in JuniorGP™, achieving 11th place in both 2020 and 2021.

In 2022, he made the leap to the MotoGP™ World Championship in the Moto3™ category, a progression that culminated this year with the Moto2™ World Championship title with the Italtrans Racing Team. An example of perseverance and continuous technical development.

For his part, José Antonio Rueda followed an exemplary development path within the Monlau school. In 2017, he finished third in the Spanish 85GP Championship with the Monlau School Team , and in the following two years, he finished fourth in the European Talent Cup with the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Talent Team . After moving to the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Junior Team , he progressed to achieve the JuniorGP™ title in 2022, which propelled him to the MotoGP™ World Championship the following year.
A top-ten finisher in his first two seasons with Red Bull KTM Ajo, in 2025 he proved unbeatable in Moto3™ with a world championship title that recognizes his talent and the strength of the project that supported him at every stage.

Comprehensive training at the service of talent:
The Monlau model goes beyond on-track performance. Its professional and pedagogical structure encompasses everything from technical training in its classrooms to high-level work in the pits, with special attention to the rider’s physical, mental, and personal development. This internationally recognized methodology, backed by numerous awards, allows young athletes to acquire a solid foundation to compete successfully at the highest level.

“Being able to accompany and support riders from their beginnings is a key factor in their development and future success. Thanks to the strong partnership between Estrella Galicia 0,0 and Monlau Motorsport, which has lasted for over a decade, we have been able to train and enjoy the talents of riders who are now at the top of motorcycling and have become world champions,” explains Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motorsport.

Along with the three world champions, Ángel Piqueras has also stood out for his performance this year . Having developed within the Monlau Motorsport structure, like Márquez, Moreira, and Rueda, the Valencian rider was crowned Spanish Moto4™ Champion in 2019 with the Monlau School Team . In 2020, he added two valuable learning seasons in the European Talent Cup with the Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 , finishing sixth and seventh, before moving up to JuniorGP™, where he finished fifth in 2022 and champion in 2023 with the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 .
In his MotoGP™ debut in 2024, in the Moto3™ category, he finished eighth, while this year he became runner-up in the World Championship with FRINSA – MT Helmets – MSI, clearly demonstrating his continued international success.

More than a decade of commitment and results.
The triple crown achieved in 2025 by riders trained within the Monlau structure confirms the maturity of a unique project in international motorcycling. Since beginning their collaboration in 2011, Monlau Motorsport and Estrella Galicia 0,0 have worked together to build a genuine path to the MotoGP™ World Championship, based on values such as effort, dedication, and technical excellence. Three world titles and a runner-up finish in a single season are the best proof that hard work pays off.
