- The Dutchman, just 15 years old, achieved seventh place, third among the rookies, in the first F4 race of his career.
- Miki Blascos shines in the first qualifying session, but cannot replicate that pace on a single lap in the race due to various incidents and
track limit penalties. - Yuzuki Sato and Fausto Arnaudo confirm their upward trajectory in Aragon and continue to evolve in the competitive middle zone of the Spanish F4 peloton.
- “We leave satisfied because we have scored points again and achieved a second podium finish among the rookies, which confirms the evolution that the team and our drivers are experiencing,” highlights David Simón, team manager of Monlau Motul Technical School.
- “Growth also involves knowing how to help those starting from scratch, as we have demonstrated with Juste Mulder, a promising young driver of only 15 years old who had no experience in single-seaters. His results speak volumes about our technical and human team,” says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul.
Monlau Motul Technical School completed a positive weekend at MotorLand Aragón, the third round of the Spanish F4 Championship. New team member Juste Mulder, just 15 years old, grabbed the headlines with his brilliant seventh-place finish, third among the rookies, in his first single-seater race. Miki Blascos also showed solid pace, achieving his best qualifying result and remaining in the leading group throughout the races, although on-track incidents and track limit penalties left him without points. Fausto Arnaudo also showed upward progress, narrowly missing the top 10 in the second points-scoring round (13th), as did Yuzuki Sato, who continues to improve in the demanding field of the category.
The Spanish F4 championship faced its third round at MotorLand Aragón with very demanding environmental conditions for the large field of 35 entries on the sweltering Teruel asphalt. Monlau Motul Technical School approached the event with a combination of positive feelings from the Valencia round and the excellent preparation work of the entire team to maintain this upward trajectory. On the sporting front, the Aragón meeting saw the addition of young Juste Mulder, just 15 years old and with no prior experience in single-seater competition.
Once again, the free practice sessions confirmed the overall parity, with 24 drivers within a second of each other and the entire grid separated by just over two seconds. A few minutes later, the first qualifying session began, and internally, there was a clear protagonist: Miki Blascos. The Mallorcan driver set two extraordinary laps (1:58.756 and 1:58.829) that propelled him to seventh on the starting grid for the first two races, his best personal result. He was followed by Juste Mulder (15th and 11th), Fausto Arnaudo (19th and 17th, his best individual results in Spanish F4), and Yuzuki Sato (26th and 27th).
When the first race began, Blascos stayed with the leading group from the start until, shortly after the first safety car period, he suffered an incident that left him stuck in the gravel at the end of lap five. Juste Mulder took over from the Mallorcan driver in the battle for points and climbed to seventh place in his single-seater debut, a result that, incidentally, earned him a podium finish as the third-placed rookie. Fausto Arnaudo and Yuzuki Sato finished in 23rd and 24th place, respectively.
The second race brought Saturday’s action to a close with a sort of déjà vu of the opening event. Blascos, who crossed the finish line in ninth place on the third lap, was once again forced to retire. In the closing stages of the race, Mulder came close to pulling off another remarkable feat, but had to settle for 11th place, ahead of Fausto Arnaudo (13th) and Yuzuki Sato (22nd).
Sunday’s session began, as usual, with qualifying, which highlighted the progress of all the teams on the circuit, with the times extremely close. Juste Mulder was 14th (1:58.497) with the team’s fastest lap of the entire event, just 0.4 seconds off pole position , and ahead of Miki Blascos (15th with 1:58.533), Fausto Arnaudo (17th, 1:58.644) and Yuzuki Sato (31st, 1:59.069).
In the race, Blascos finally saw the checkered flag in this third meeting of the Spanish F4 Championship, although exceeding track limits resulted in penalties that left him out of the points (14th). Juste Mulder (20th), Fausto Arnaudo (21st), and Yuzuki Sato (34th) also finished.
David Simón , Team Manager of Monlau Motul Technical School, analyzed the team’s results at MotorLand Aragón: “We leave with the confirmation that we are moving in the right direction. We scored points again and achieved a second podium finish among the rookies, clear signs of the progress the team and drivers are making. We demonstrated a high level of setup for qualifying, as evidenced by Miki Blascos’ two seventh-place finishes in Q1, and also greater consistency in the race from all the drivers, who, were it not for a few incidents, would have scored more points. I think it’s only fair to highlight Juste Mulder’s impressive single-seater debut and also Fausto’s strong performance, as he gets closer and closer to the front group. The same goes for Sato, whom we see as having exceptional talent, and as he gains experience, he will undoubtedly translate that into results.”
Monlau Motul CEO Jaime Serrano added: “Growth also involves knowing how to work from scratch, as we have demonstrated with Juste Mulder, a driver of only 15 years old with no prior experience in single-seaters. His results speak volumes about our technical and human team, who have supported the Dutchman since the pre-tests and allowed him to express all his talent on the track when it mattered most.”
Monlau Motul Technical School currently holds seventh place in the team championship with 20 points. In the drivers’ category, Miki Blascos is 13th with 18 points, while Juste Mulder makes his debut in 16th place with 7 points. The fourth round of the championship will be held on August 22nd and 23rd at the Jarama circuit.
