Team Estrella Galicia 0.0 arrives at the FIM JuniorGP of Aragon in full fight for both titles

  • With 68 margin points ahead of the standings, Ángel Piqueras wants to take advantage of his first match ball and lift the JuniorGP world title.

  • The European Talent Cup will hold two races, where Brian Uriarte will seek to leave MotorLand as leader of the general standings before the last decisive round in Valencia.

  • All the riders and technicians of the TEG00 face with maximum ambition the final stretch of a World Cup that can proclaim the champion team one more year.

  • “The team arrives rested and very motivated at MotorLand Aragón, aware of the great role we can play. We just have to be ourselves,” says Jaime Serrano, CEO of the team.

After almost three months without competition, the FIM JuniorGP World Championship returns to the scene with all the spotlights on MotorLand Aragón, the circuit that will host the penultimate round of the championship on 7 and 8 October. After a well-deserved rest and several weeks back to work, Team Estrella Galicia 0.0 arrives with the opportunity to lift its first title of the season thanks to the brilliant career signed by Ángel Piqueras.

The Valencian rider leads the overall classification of the JuniorGP category with 166 points and an advantage of 68 points over his immediate pursuer. Some champion numbers that include seven podiums in nine races and that allow Piqueras to be proclaimed Junior world champion this weekend if he finishes in the top eight. Something that, on the other hand, has achieved in all the tests disputed this year.

In the same category, Facundo Llambías will try to maintain the form shown in the last round, played in Barcelona-Catalunya, where he finished in the top ten with a great pace. Precisely in the Catalan route, his partner Alex Gourdon added the first points of the year, in an evolution of sensations and results that will seek to confirm in Aragon. The Italian Elia Bartolini will not continue in the team, and instead will race the Irish driver Casey O’Gorman.

The European Talent Cup, which will hold two races in MotorLand with the red-hot classification, also promises a lot of excitement. With three races remaining, two in Aragon and one in Valencia, only nine points separate the leader from the third placed. Santanderino Brian Uriarte, who is only one point away from the current leader, will run to the attack with the desire to leave the Aragonese meeting at the top of the table.

In addition to Uriarte, Rico Salmela also arrives with great desire and the goal of occupying podium places, after reaping good results throughout the summer in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. Also animated and fully charged are Hakim Danish and Amanuel Brinton, who will seek to be in the top ten of the table.

“In addition to recharging energies, these months without competition we have used them to work the bikes and continue improving aspects. The team arrives very motivated at MotorLand Aragón, aware of the great role we can do, but without getting nervous. We just have to be ourselves,” says Jaime Serrano, CEO of the team.

For his part, the Team Manager, Kev Coghlan, highlights what the strategy of the team should be at the weekend: “Both Angel Piqueras and the whole team will face the race as if it were one more. So we always do better. And in the same line we face the situation with Brian Uriarte. Both JuniorGP and ETC drivers have ambitious goals ahead and we are confident in achieving them”.

The action will take centre stage at MotorLand Aragón from Thursday and Friday with free practice, while the first qualifying session on Saturday will take place at 9:00 CEST. The races will arrive on Sunday, with the ETC Last Chance at 9:15h CEST as the starting point. The first test of the ETC will be at 12:00h CEST, scheduled 13 laps, and next will be the turn of JuniorGP, 14 laps, from 13:00h CEST. The ETC riders will return to the track at 15:00h CEST with the second test, also 13 laps.
