Team Monlau Motul emerged stronger from the third round of the 2026 FIM MotoJunior™ World Championship, held at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit. The Barcelona-based team once again demonstrated a high level of competitiveness, especially in the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, where Travis Borg secured his third consecutive podium finish, coming in third in a highly competitive race. This result puts him in a tie for the championship lead with two other riders, all on 69 points.
The weekend started with a positive feeling for the Moto3™ team, especially for Borg, who was fastest in Saturday’s practice and confirmed his excellent performance with second place in qualifying, just 20 thousandths of a second off pole position . Kerman Tinez achieved a commendable ninth place on the grid, while Marianos Nikolis failed to make it into Q2.
The first race began with a double start after a red flag brought the race to a halt in its early stages. Borg made two good starts and remained in the leading group throughout the race, battling for a podium finish until the checkered flag. He ultimately finished fourth. Tinez completed a consistent performance to finish eleventh, while Nikolis suffered a crash.
In the second heat, Borg was once again one of the main protagonists. After a great start, he took the lead and remained in a constant battle for the win, overtaking each other repeatedly until crossing the finish line in third place. Tinez, meanwhile, finished fourth after fighting throughout the race in the leading group, while Nikolis finished 18th.
In the Moto2™ European Championship, Facundo Llambías once again confirmed the progress he has shown in recent races. The Uruguayan rider started from seventh position and made a great start, moving into the top five in the early stages. However, tire degradation in the second half of the race prevented him from maintaining the leading pace, and he finished tenth.
The Moto4™ European Cup riders continued to make progress over the weekend. Nolann Macary qualified for the races for the first time. The French rider completed both races, finishing 24th and 20th respectively, and continued to gain experience in this highly demanding category. Meanwhile, rookie Leonardo Fabio Cabrera had his first experience with both the category and the team. Although he didn’t qualify for the races, the experience provided him with valuable learning and improved his adaptability.
“It was a very positive weekend for the team. Travis once again demonstrated that he has the pace and consistency needed to fight for the championship. Leaving Jerez as joint leaders is a reward for the work we are doing. We are also very pleased with Kerman’s performance, who was battling with the best, and with Facundo’s effort, who scored points again despite tire degradation. In Moto4™, Nolann qualified for the races for the first time, and Leonardo took advantage of every outing to continue learning and adapting to the category,” explained Eduardo Villodre , Team Manager of Team Monlau Motul.
“We continue to solidify our position as one of the leading teams in the championship. Being in the fight for the Moto3™ title demonstrates the great work the entire team is doing. Travis is being very consistent, and the rest of the riders are showing very positive progress. Our goal is to maintain this momentum in the upcoming races,” said Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.
The next stop for Team Monlau Motul in the 2026 FIM MotoJunior™ World Championship will take place from July 24 to 26 at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours (France), where the Barcelona-based team will seek to extend their excellent form and remain fully immersed in the fight for the Moto3™ title.
