Facundo Llambías achieves his best result of the year with Team Monlau Motul in the FIM MotoJunior™ WCh at MotorLand

  • The Uruguayan rider achieves fourth place in the first Moto2™ race and completes the weekend with an eighth place.
  • Travis Borg scores points in both Moto3™ races and is fifth in the overall standings, just two points away from fourth position.
  • Kerman Tinez and Marianos Nikolis also scored points in both Moto3™ races.
  • “It was a demanding weekend, especially in Moto3™, but we managed to score points with all three riders in both races. Facundo once again demonstrated his speed and maturity with a great fourth place,” says Eduardo Villodre, team manager of Team Monlau Motul.
  • “We continue working until the very end to finish the championship in the best possible way. Facundo’s fourth place and the points earned in Moto3™ are a testament to the team’s hard work and competitiveness,” says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.

Team Monlau Motul completed the penultimate round of the 2026 FIM MotoJunior™ World Championship at MotorLand Aragón with points in both Moto3™ races and a standout performance from Facundo Llambías in the Moto2™ European Championship. Travis Borg added 10 points over the weekend and now sits fifth in the overall standings with 111 points, two behind fourth place.

The action began on Friday with free practice, where the riders, mechanics, and engineers of Team Monlau Motul worked on fine-tuning their bikes. In Saturday’s qualifying, Travis Borg secured ninth position with a time of 1:58.395, while Kerman Tinez finished 18th with a time of 1:59.938 after suffering a crash during the session. Marianos Nikolis started from 19th position.

In the first Moto3™ race, Borg made a good start from ninth place and climbed to sixth on the first lap. The Maltese rider remained in the leading group for much of the race, although he lost touch with the frontrunners midway through and finished 11th. Nikolis completed a demanding race to cross the finish line in 13th, while Tinez made steady progress from the back of the field to finish 14th.

The second race saw all three Team Monlau Motul riders once again in the points. Borg initially held a position at the front, but contact with another rider caused him to lose ground, and he finished 11th again. Nikolis completed a hard-fought race and finished 14th, while Tinez battled throughout to cross the finish line in 15th place.

In the Moto2™ European Championship, Facundo Llambías was once again one of the weekend’s protagonists. The Uruguayan rider started practice with two ninth-place finishes and qualified tenth for the races. In the first race, he made an excellent start, gaining five positions and moving into fifth place in the early stages. Llambías maintained a solid pace and good race management throughout the race, battling in the leading group for fourth position until finally securing it in the closing stages. This result represents his best qualifying result of the season.

In the second race, Llambías delivered a consistent performance. The Uruguayan driver remained in contention for the top positions and finished eighth, completing a weekend in which he showcased his speed and consistency.

In the Moto4™ European Cup, Nolann Macary was unable to compete in the race. The French rider finished 19th in the first free practice session and improved to 12th in the second. However, a crash during the Last Chance session, while running near the front, prevented him from qualifying for the race.

“It was a demanding weekend, especially in Moto3™, where the competition was once again incredibly close. Travis started both races well and was in the leading group, although different circumstances caused him to lose positions and finish eleventh in both. The important thing is that all three riders managed to score points in both races, and we continue working to finish the championship in the best possible position. In Moto2™, Facundo once again demonstrated his speed and maturity with two great races. In Moto4™, Nolann’s crash in the Last Chance race prevented him from competing, although he showed good progress during practice,” explained Eduardo Villodre , team manager of Team Monlau Motul.

“We scored important points in Moto3™ and Facundo achieved his best result of the year in Moto2™, thanks to the hard work of the entire team. Now we face the final round with the same ambition, aiming to continue growing and finish the season in the best possible way in all categories,” stated Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.

The final round of the 2026 FIM MotoJunior™ World Championship will take place from October 16-18 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Team Monlau Motul will bring the championship to a close with the aim of maintaining the progress shown throughout the season and finishing 2026 on a high note.
