- The Barcelona team faces the second round of the championship this weekend after starting the season with a podium finish in the Moto3™ Junior World Championship.
- After completing two days of testing at the Portuguese circuit, the team will face a total of five races on Sunday, divided between the Moto3™, Moto2™ and Moto4™ categories.
- “The training sessions have allowed us to continue working on all fronts and build a solid foundation. We are confident that our riders can be close to the front of the pack,” says Eduardo Villodre, Team Manager of Team Monlau Motul.
- “We’re approaching this second race with optimism because the team is working in a very good direction. We have a group of riders who are improving race after race, and we’re competing on a circuit where we’ve recently been able to accumulate mileage,” says Jaime Serrano, CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.
Team Monlau Motul faces the second stop of the FIM MotoJunior™ World Championship 2026 this weekend at the Circuito do Estoril (Portugal), an event in which they will seek to continue the good feelings shown at the start of the season and continue consolidating the work done during the last months.
The Barcelona-based team arrives in Portugal after a promising debut at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where Travis Borg secured the team’s first podium of the season, finishing second in the second Moto3™ Junior World Championship race. Furthermore, both Kerman Tinez and Marianos Nikolis demonstrated enough speed to compete at the front of the pack.
Specifically, Team Monlau Motul has completed two days of testing in Estoril with the aim of preparing for this second round in the best possible conditions and continuing to advance in the fine-tuning of the bikes and the adaptation of its riders.
In Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Borg heads into the Portuguese round among the championship leaders after his brilliant performance in Barcelona. Alongside the Maltese rider, Tinez and Nikolis will be looking to translate the potential shown in the first race of the year into results and fight for the top positions in the only race scheduled for the category.
Facundo Llambías will once again represent the team in the Moto2™ European Championship . The Uruguayan, who began the season hampered by a lack of track time due to a preseason injury, arrives in Estoril with renewed confidence after his recent training sessions. His goal will be to take a step forward and demonstrate his strong pace.
Meanwhile, the Moto4™ European Cup will feature the full Team Monlau Motul lineup. Nolann Macary returns to competition after missing the opening round due to injury. The Frenchman will share the garage with Cesc Obiol , who continues his adaptation to this highly demanding category after completing his first weekend in the championship in Barcelona.
“The test days have allowed us to continue working on all fronts and build a solid foundation. In Moto3™ Junior WCh, we are confident that our three riders can be close to the front positions, while in Moto2™ ECh, we hope that Facundo can translate the positive feeling he showed during practice into the races. It will also be important to continue monitoring the progress of our Moto4™ EC riders over the weekend,” explains Eduardo Villodre , Team Manager of Team Monlau Motul.
“We’re approaching this second race with optimism, as the team is working in a very positive direction. We have Nolann back, a group of riders who are improving race after race, and we’re competing on a circuit where we’ve recently been able to accumulate mileage. The goal is to capitalize on all this work to continue growing and be among the frontrunners in all categories,” says Jaime Serrano , CEO of Monlau Motul Technical School.
The program at the Circuito do Estoril will kick off on Friday with free practice sessions, followed by practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday, starting at 12:20 PM (local time). On Sunday, before the races, the Moto4™ EC Last Chance race will take place at 9:15 AM. This will be followed by the first Moto4™ EC race (11:00 AM), then the first Moto2™ European Championship race (12:00 PM) and the only Moto3™ Junior WCh race (1:00 PM). In the afternoon, the second Moto4™ EC race (2:00 PM) and the second Moto2™ European Championship race (3:00 PM) will be held.
